What’s the fastest growing hedging?
In order, we would expect the following new growth on each plant within a full growing season, providing that you’ve followed our plant care advise (found within our plant advice / guarantee page)
Are the plants in your pictures the same as the plants I’ll receive?
Yes, we’re very proud of our plants and are totally transparent with the images we show and the measurements we give. What you see is what you’ll receive.
Are your plants good quality?
Ensuring the superior quality of our hedging plants is at the heart of our family-run business’s values, and it’s a key factor in why we have a dedicated base of loyal customers. Rest assured, our nursery staff, all of whom are highly qualified, are committed to providing the best care for your hedging plants while they’re on our premises. Furthermore, we conduct thorough quality checks on every order before dispatch to guarantee that your plants arrive in the healthiest condition possible.
How long can my plants be left in their pots?
At Cheshire plants we emphasise the fact that our hedging plants are living things and require water, light and air to survive. This being said, we understand that it is not always possible to plant straight away. Therefore, there are certain short term measures that can be taken to ensure your plants receive the care they need until you’re ready to plant.
Once you have removed your plants from the delivery box or pallet, they can remain in their containers for several weeks until you are ready to plant. In the meantime, simply make sure that the soil is moist and the plants are kept sheltered from full sun or harsh winds.
Are your plants UK grown?
At Cheshire Plants we pride ourselves on growing over 95% of our hedging plants in our Cheshire fields, polly tunnels and greenhouses. We have growing sites in Chester and Holmes Chapel, both are managed by experienced nursery staff who nurture the plants until they’re ready for despatch. In order to provide the best hedge plants for our customers 12 months of the year, we occasionally use other specialist growers. We have long standing relationships with these growers and ensure that the quality of their plants is equal to our own Cheshire grown stock.
Are you open to the public?
As we run very busy growing sites rather than a garden centre, unfortunately, we are not open to the public. However, if you wish to see any of our plants before purchasing, this can be arranged. All we ask is that you call us in advance so we can ensure there is a member of the team available to accompany you safely around the site.
